The EMS Bariatric EvacMat is an upgraded version of the original and popular bariatric evac mat. Designed for use by emergency service personnel, the EMS Bariatric EvacMat enables crews to slide heavy individuals to safety, including staircases, without the need involement for heavy lifting. Anchor points allow the use of ropes for a more controlled stair descent if required
Large side wings and easy to use colour coded cross straps, keep the individual cocooned and secure, providing a solution to body mass stabilisation while making the EMS Bariatric EvacMat more stable. Head and side ladder handles provide multiple rescuer contact points and allow personnel to adopt good working posture, reducing the risk of injury to themselves.
The EMS Bariatric EvacMat has many special features not available on the standard Bariatric EvacMat. These include, a replaceable two piece sliding board – making the mat harder wearing and longer lasting, and an internal pocket allowing for the insertion of a spinal board – for greater stability and patient comfort while moving.
Other features include colour coded low and high positioning handles and anchor points, extra (loose) ladder handles – which can be attached to the many anchor points, an internal pillow plus a slide sheet for ease of transfer.
Made from flame retardant, anti-bacterial PVC with a hard Polyethylene base board.
Additional accessories include:

waterproof hood, ladder handles, slide sheets and casualty handling slings.
With extended tow ropes the Bariatric Evac Mat allows a team of carers to gently let the occupant down the stairs with no danger to either passenger or operator. It also benefits from having stretcher type handles to allow the Mat to be turned on landings before onward descent.
Metal seat belt style buckles are now provided as standard.
